Who am I and why am I doing this?

I’m Eileen Buenviaje Reyes. For those who don’t know, ‘buen viaje’ means ‘good travels’ in Spanish, making travel literally my middle name. My dad even owned a travel agency during my childhood, where I was responsible for the advertising which sprouted my successful career in marketing.

I’m a marketer and storyteller. Simplifying complex concepts into memorable stories is my profession. I strive to connect people to value quickly. I also know how to meet people where they are.

I live in Silicon Valley and work in tech. Technology is empowering but also overwhelming. I use tech solutions to make things easier and faster. When it comes to travel, there is innovation everywhere to try. 

I’m Filipino-American. I’m an outsider in most places around the world. I notice when Asian influence appears in the most unexpected locations. I recognize the diaspora of people and cultures, and respect the history and journeys of the generations before us which shape the world we experience today. 

I believe: 

• A vacation begins with an outcome in mind, not necessarily just the search criteria found on travel sites. 
• A destination provides an infinite range of outcomes and experiences based on who you’re with, when you visit, and what you do.
• We work to afford travel, but don’t want planning travel to be hard work. 

My experiences and beliefs form the foundation of Goodtrip.is. By sharing them with others, I hope you have many memorable buen viajes of your own.
